# Editing your Profile

You can easily update your information through a simple form accessible from your account dashboard.

Locate Your Avatar: In the top right corner of your screen, you’ll find your profile avatar and a dropdown with your username (it might be the default avatar and randomly generated username).
Click to Open: Click on your avatar. This will open a dropdown menu.
Click "Edit Profile": From the dropdown menu, select the “Edit Profile” option.

The “Edit Profile” form allows you to modify several key details about your account. Here's some of the details you can change:

Profile Picture: Upload a picture that represents you! You can use an existing image from your computer or take a new one with your device’s camera. (File types supported: JPG, PNG)
Username: Change your displayed username if you'd like. Note: Usernames must be unique.
Biography (Optional): Write a short description about yourself, your favorite game genres, or anything else you’d like to share with the IndieBuilds community!
Location (Optional): Add your location country and state or province.
Social Media Accounts: You can add additional social media accounts that you own and want to display on your profile page.
Privacy Settings: Additional settings that impact your usage of IndieBuilds with respect to your privacy.
Preference Settings: Additional settings that impact your usage of IndieBuilds with respect what you see and engage with.

Troubleshooting & Tips:

Form Errors: If you encounter any errors while filling out the form, double-check that all required fields are completed and that you’ve followed any specific instructions (e.g., file size limits).
Resetting to Default: If you accidentally make changes you don't like, simply refresh the page – it will revert back to your original settings.
