# Sales Payouts

# Revenue Split

IndieBuilds operates on a revenue split system for games sold through our storefront. The current split is:

  • Developer: 80% of gross sales revenue
  • IndieBuilds: 20% of gross sales revenue

This split covers all sales generated through the IndieBuilds platform, including direct purchases and any applicable subscriptions. We believe this model provides a fair and sustainable ecosystem for indie game developers.

# Requesting a Payout

This section outlines how to request a payout and what you can expect during the process.

# Accessing the Payout Request Form:

Log in to your IndieBuilds Developer Dashboard: Navigate to IndieBuilds Developer Forge if you have a Developer account set up and log in with your credentials.

Navigate to the "Payouts" Section: In the left-hand navigation menu, click on the "Payouts" option.

Click "Request Payout": You'll find a button labeled "Request Payout". Clicking this will take you to the payout request form.

Completing the Request Form:

The payout request form requires the following information:

  • Payment Method: Select your preferred payment method from the available options (Currently supported options are through PayPal). We are working to add more payout processing options and notify Developers of newer options. Ensure the email address or account details you provide match the ones associated with your chosen payment provider for faster processing.
  • Amount to Payout: Enter the amount you wish to withdraw. Please note that we have a minimum payout threshold of $10. Any amount below this will be held until you reach the threshold.
  • Currency: Currently only USD is available (USD). We are actively working to incorporate payouts in other currencies, and notify Developers of newer options.
  • Confirmation: Review all the details carefully before submitting your request.

Note: Only PayPal is currently available as a payment processor and we only do Payouts in USD ($) as of now. Processing Fees and Exchange rates may apply to your Payout as highlighted in our IndieBuilds Developer.

# Payout Processing Time:

Once your request is submitted, we will verify your account information and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

After approval, processing time can vary widely depending on the chosen payment method, region, and currency exchange.

  • PayPal: Typically takes 1-3 business days after approval.
  • Bank Transfer: Supported for certain regions and localities.

You will receive an email notification confirming the payout has been initiated and include details regarding your payment.

# Important Considerations:

  • Account Verification: If you haven't already, ensure your developer account is fully verified. This may be required to proceed with a payout request.
  • Tax Information: You are responsible for reporting any payouts received as income to the relevant tax authorities in your jurisdiction. We do not handle tax obligations. Consult with a tax professional for advice.
  • Payout Frequency: Payouts are processed about once a week. Requests submitted after the cutoff date will be processed in the following payout cycle. Cutoff is every Friday at 3:00 PM PST.
  • Fees: Please note that any fees associated with payouts – e.g., transaction fees charged by PayPal or bank transfers (if added) may be deducted from your payout amount.
  • Currency Exchange Rates: Any currency conversions will be based on the prevailing exchange rate at the time of conversion, which is subject to market fluctuations.

# Freely Awarded Games

IndieBuilds has a permenant BOGO Free (Buy-One-Get-One Free) system for every game sold on IndieBuilds. That means that customers will get a randomly selected game for free for every purchase of a game.
